Goodman Jacob's European Peasant Outfit

Good Day and Well Met! Misty Thicket Clothing offers you our Jacob's Commoner Outfit: a complete men's costume fit to suit most any medieval or renaissance peasant! This ensemble starts with a soft and durable 15th-18th C. European Shift (shirt) made from your choice of cotton or linen.

The shirt is designed to be roomy and is made to fit your measurements (given below). The sleeves average 19"-20" long from the underarm seam to finished cuff, but custom measurements can be e-mailed to us.

Self fabric ties lace through durable grommets to close the front neckline or you can upgrade to button hole lacing (pictured).

A pair of sturdy trews rounds out the basic outfit. The wide legs give you many different wearing options, as you can wear them over your footwear for common comfort, lace them over your legs, or 'blouse' them into your boots for a 'bout of fighting or a day of riding. Our biggins are made of easy to care for cotton, making them breathable, comfortable, and washable. Biggins were worn underneath other hats to keep them clean, or by themselves as a daily head cover, by both men and women, and will be perfect for virtually any European period costume! The caps are one size fits all, and are self lined, making them reversible. The biggins are machine washable and "should" be hung to dry.

Our short jerkin is made of a durable cotton twill, and is stout enough for the most active adventurer. The jerkin is laced on each side and down the front with leather cording, through durable metal grommets. The jerkin falls to the waist in the back (not the hips) and will fit almost anyone.
