Lord William's Fine Merchant's Ensemble The ideal shirt for the farmer, peasant, serf, rogue, renegade, outlaw, artisan, merchant, or sell sword of the high middle ages and renaissance!

Add the quality of poetic license to your Renaissance garb with M'Lord William's 13th-18th C. European Gentleman's Fine Merchant's Doublet!

This ensemble (which includes doublet, pants, and poet shirt) is ideal for the noble, the common man, the artisan, or the rogue! The smooth and fitted shape of this doublet makes it a perfect match for High Renaissance period garb. The sleeves are detachable to allow versatility for those times when you need your arms unencumbered or to provide a more romantic look. The sleeves are affixed with ribbon ties at the shoulder joints and provide lustrous gold button closures at the elbow, forearm, and wrist for easy removal.

The doublet is backed in a very durable heavy cotton twill. It is comfortable to wear and extremely durable, and will be the ideal fit for any period persona of high standing. Additional gimp or trimmings can be added to the doublet, just email us for prices.

This doublet is available in a variety of materials and motifs commonly found on the merchant or gentry (early period nobility)classes. We have provided a list of Merchant and Gentry fabrics.

Please select your doublet on this page and follow the steps to pick out a shirt and pants. After purchase, you will be sent an e-mail allowing you to customize the color of your doublet buttons and ribbons and provide the measurements we need to complete your doublet. Since this is a fitted garment, ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS ARE VERY IMPORTANT. Please refer to our Men's Sizing Instruction page for accurate doublet sizing.

NOTE: The standard doublet WILL include the detachable sleeves (please contact us if you do not want sleeves). SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF FABRIC! We will always provide you an approximate fabric, but styles and colors do vary!
